In Space Contains No Threats, the installation uses a wallpaper designed with a repeat pattern of a chain-link fence against a sky-blue background. The pattern on the walls begin to speak of territorial markings used to define spatial boundaries. This piece explores the relationship between the interior and the exterior, specifically the representation of the urban landscape, indoors. The idea to frame the outside by recapturing it indoors creates a perceptual play by questioning whether the viewer’s placement is on the inside or the outside of the fence.
