The Microphone Series

In the exploration of the domestic as a political space The Microphone Series examines the language of the media as a controlled dialect. Within the insulated space of our homes, the radio, newspaper, TV and the Internet become connections to the outside world. The man speaking at the microphone represents our awareness of the outside world through his ability to speak and convey information. In creating these images, details about the person, or which relevant topics they may be speaking about are censored. It is not the news that I am interested in but the idea of how words and language can be misguided and misinterpreted through the means in which they are delivered and how they are received.
